Compression Molding of Thermoset SMC

I would like to know whether it is possible to model pure compression molding similar to sheet molding compounds (SMC) process,  in Autodesk Insight? If so, could you please give an overview of the procedures involved. The autodesk help is not clear for the pure compression molding of thermoset. 

Any other suggestion for the SMC process simulation?

Hello Kumarjois,

Yes, you can model pure compression molding of thermosets. You just have to change the process in the Molding Process to Reactive Compression Molding. The key is to have the material characterized well enough for your objective. There are no SMC material files in the public database currently. We have run numerous projects with this module. We have examined charge optimization, fiber orientation, and warpage reduction. If you would like to discuss further, let me know.

Thanks for your reply.
It would be great if you could share some material (may be some videos or
notes) so that I can get a hang on the process. Since I am new to
compression molding and there is very few material available for learning,
this would be really helpful.

Hi Everyone,

why Resin transfer molding has only 2 analysis sequence in Dual domain mesh . First is Fill & second one is Runner balancing.
