Simulation Material library to be available in Moldflow for Interoperability

I am posting this on behalf of a client.

We would like to see Simulation Mechanical Library made available in Moldflow for better Interoperability/integration between the two software packages when conducting analysis as described in the manual.

The client is aware that the intergration between the two packages are primary to conduct an analysis on the strength of the part due to the possible anisotropic nature of the material after injection molding i.e.

"Because injection molding can result in materials that are anisotropic in nature (different properties in different directions) and with varying orientation of the fibers throughout the part, performing a Moldflow analysis and incorporating the results in the Simulation Mechanical stress analysis will provide a more accurate simulation." (extract taken from the manual).

However, the client wishes to conduct analysis on a part with a insert. However, the lack of the Simulation Mechanical material library does not allow for export of the results pertaining to the metallic insert, from Moldflow to Simulation Mechanical.

P.S -

This also means that for an assembly, there are two volumes involved, the injected product and the insert. The above analysis would require that the transfer of the results as a whole between a single study file and a assembly opened in Simulation Mechanical be made possible.

Thanks & Regards,

hello, shigeaki-san

thank you for the post. i appreciate it.

i checked the other setting that the part(plastic) was composed of one model instead of the independent 4 parts,

and it works in this case because i checked the result of moldflow was mapped onto the mechanical fem file.

so i do not think this is due to the database issue. i would rather assume there was an exception

that the mapping function could not handle more than two parts.

insert(aluminum) + part(plastic) <- ok

insert(aluminum) + part(plastic) + ... + part(plastic) <- no

thank you for the request anyway.

regards,

toru
