Mold Block Wizard that remembers sizes

Mold Block Wizard that remembers sizes

Currently when using the mold block wizard a length, width and height is proposed based on the outer sizes of the simulation model. Every time this function is used the values automatically change back to these "default" sizes but I would prefer Moldflow to remember the custom sizes that were set in each study, with a reset option to go back to "default".

Thank you for this. We are looking to do some work in this area in the next few years. Having some database of standard components or user saved components would be good.

Hi Ramon,

Can you add a little bit more context to this request? For one model, getting a different runner configuration, the Mold block might no longer be suitable.

But if you buy always specific mold bases, I can see you want a specific default mold base or a mold base catalogue..

Can you speak to he context a bit more?

Hello Hanno,

Actually my request is more simple (I think). Usually when I want to validate moldbase cooling I already have made a conceptual design. This means I import the part and cooling channels into Moldflow and then use the mold block function to create a moldbase with the designed sizes.

In the video I attached you can see at 0:45 that MF automatically goes back to a "best fit" size. But I would like it to remember the 246x246x100mm input I entered at 0:33.

To still keep the current functionality, maybe a "best fit" button next to the XYZ dimension boxes would be a good idea?

Best regards,

Ramon

Thank you for this video ... I think this is more a bug actually... Thanks for pointing this out.
