Make "show points" default for compare materials

Hi,
make "show points" default for compare materials,
or at least to remember (save the setting) when used.

The "Show Points" are always off by default.

Now it has to be checked every time...

And, fix when checking "Show Points", the to get the symbols

Now the workaround is:

For viscosity example:
when comparing,  check "Show Points"
Enter Plot Properties.
Remove the decimals of last temperature
Apply
And there are the symbols. Smiley Happy

Thanks.

Berndt

Hi Berndt,

I like your idea and think it is good to remember the settings for "show Point".

btw, Comparing with the previous symbols shown in Step3), and the default "small point" in Step 2). which one works better in your opinion?

Thanks

Hi Jasper,
I would go for Step 3).
Step 3) with the different symbols works better, as quick to indentify ( probably because I am used to it Smiley Happy )

Comments on 2).
Step 2) has a cleaner look, but also has a color mess up : the color of T_1 legends does not agree with T_1 curves
as in Step 3) - a fix needed here too.

Maybe fixing the legend colors will improve quick reading/identifying.

An option to chose between points as symbols or dots would be good.

Thanks Berndt for the quickly reply and answer! 🙂

There is inconsistent issue between Step 2) and Step 3), good comments for us to refer to fix this problem next.

Hi,

Last year I sent to Ms. Caroline Dorin (Moldflow User Experience Manager) a document presenting 40 issues I'd like to be improved.

In it, there was 1 page about the curves plotting. I said they was not nice.

I requestes, not to suppress the symbols, but to let us the possibility to hide them using the "Plot properties" tool.

I don't know if this change has be done because of me.

But as you did, I remarked when you try to compare 2 materials, the curves are often not readable.

So the option Symbols or Not should be add.

But I also propose several other solutions:

- minimize the symbols (your dots are visible enough)

- apply the same symbol for all the curves of the same material

- hide the symbols and use variations of the same color for each material (ex: blue / brun).

Hi Pascal,

thank you for your comments.

The option to suppress curve point symbols are okay.

Confusing initially as a kind of hidden when used to old behavior.

Then the little bug...

Agree on your other proposals as well to view Symbols or Dots or not.

Good to have some options when comparing materials data curves.

Regards,

Berndt
