Capability to Pause Analysis

Capability to Pause Analysis

Hello Colleagues,

While running parallel analysis' on multiple machines and/OR having limited solvers, sometimes we end up stopping a particular analysis (completely kill the run) in between while running some another analysis in priority which we need to rerun from the start which might take more run time.

My suggestion would be that we should be able to pause any analysis in between and have the flexibility to choose the analysis to continue with.

In addition to this, I would also like to add one suggestion (I guess this has been already discussed :D)

If we run a whole FPW analysis, and while the Fill analysis is in progress, to change any process setting (like Packing time/packing pressure) I need to kill the run and rerun the whole analysis from start. We loose huge time. (in case of 3D/ huge parts).

Regards,

Prasad Mahajan

The Start/Stop buttom is on the list of wanted features for ..I think..about 10 years.

It would be great if it could be realized soon...

I too had requested 3 yrs. back and has been already accepted. Not yet implemented. Development team might be facing some problem.

Hope it is will be implemented soon 🙂

Thanks Madhukeshwar, I missed to see your earlier post.

No other option than to wait 🙂

Thanks Hanno!

Honestly ... this  has proven to be non-trivial. We looked at this several times from different angles. The different approaches can introduce some big problems (eg. result differences after a pause and a restart).

One comment is that Cloud solves could be a way to get around this issue in a different way.
