in automotive we have a certain standard on cad models.
with this standard i have a lot of problems to import these files in moldflow
either it is not possible to import at all or the data results in bad meshes
with 2021 this got worse because the stl mesher does not work anymore.
moldflow says "cad file is not fine, it has errors"
i go to cad guy
cad guy tells me "cad file is very fine, there are no errors, i checked it with several volumem checkers"
i sit in the middle and the only way to go is to use alternative products like hypermesh or simlab or cad doctor which results in quite fine meshes eventually. but why is any other softeware better in handling cad models than moldflow.
since the stl mesher does not work anymore in 2021 this is step backward instead of forward.
the point is, that in automotive the standard cad quality cant be changed. in my opinion the import and meshing capability of autodesk moldflow has to change not the complete automotive industry.
at the moment i am forced to buy alternative licenses to use moldflow properly
please improve meshing and cad model import functions.
