Cut shape out of mesh and keep contents of shape

Hi,

In Meshmixer does anyone know how to cut a shape out of a mesh, but keep the contents of a shape as a separate object ? - ie a bit like doing a plane cut and separate shells but with a cube shape as the cut and not a simple plane cut.

I know I could cut a cube out using Boolean difference or flip normals but I then don't keep the contents of the cube shape (if that makes sense)

Help greatly appreciated as always

Thanks

John

Booleans are the only to achieve that in MM.

You need to create duplicates of both parts. Run BooleanDifference on one pair and BooleanIntersection on the other one. Is that what your looking for?Ohne Titel.jpeg
