Hello,
could anyone help in how to close a hole in a model to make it solid.
you'll probably use the "erase and fill" tool in the select menu. Depending on the state of your mesh file, yo may have to do some prep work to get a good result. if you post your model I'll make a screen cast for you.
you can also try the mesh mixer forum. it's not nearly as active as the fusion forum, but someone will generally help you there eventually also.
SELECT/Edit/EraseAndFill will not work. This tool replaces an existing region with another one. So you' ll get a similar "hole".
EDIT: Thinking over it: EraseAndFill does the job if you select the interior surface totally (which is hard, but doable using some tricky face grouping)
Think this is much easier:
You need to get open boundaries first to break the connection between interior and exterior surface and fill these boundaries.
In SELECT:
- Select a ring around the hole
- Hit X to discard this selection.
> This ends in two blue loops (open boundaries)
In ANALYSIS:
- Run Inspector and click on the two blue marker spheres pointing to the boundaries to fill each.
(AutoRepair all may work too if there are no other open boundaries)
If you want to remove the interior shell:
In EDIT:
- Run SeparateShells and discard the interior object(s) via ObjectBrowser
