Number of triangles selected in GUI

Hello,

I am fairly new to Meshmixer and am wondering if there is a display within the graphical interface that will let me know how many triangles I have selected after using the brush tool on a portion of my object. I see that the number of vertices and triangles is displayed for the full object, but how can I show just the region I have selected?
Thanks,

Unfortunately there's no straight way to get the number of selected triangles/tris. You'll need some workaround:

Some area selected run Edit/Separate or simply hit Y. Now the number of vertices/triangles at bottom-right display the desired  numbers of the former selection.

To join both objects again: Activate both (Shift+LMB-click the second) and run EDIT/Combine followed by EDIT/CloseCracks to weld the surfaces.

Now there's a facegroup at the region and in SELECT you may double click the face group to select it again.

The separate tool will work nicely. Thank you for the quick response.
