why does it not cast shadow?

I'm using Maya 2015(for student). 

I'm making a scene which has a kind of camera moving animation.

I can't see any cast shadow in my scene view. 

When I saw render view or a rendered image, they showed the cast shadow well.

However, When I did playblast, it didn't show any cast shadow but just form shadow in the video.

I tried to batch render, but I couldn't. you can see what happened when I tried to batch render in my screenshot.

I couldn't adjust render setting for batch render.

How can I fix it?

1. To see shadows in Viewport you need to enable Shadows for Viewport.

I can't tell anything from your screenshot besides that you switched to Mental Ray as renderer.
