Transparency does not render in Arnold

Hello,

I am having some problems trying to render an object with transparent parts. As you can see in the picture that is attached one should be able to see through the ring and the pillar but in the rendered picture you can not see the red ball. Does anyone know how I can make objects transparent after being rendered?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Make sure you are using Arnold materials?

Arnold handles Opacity in a different way than the VP in maya. White in an opacity Map will be transparent in an Arnold Render, but solid in the VP.

I've found a solution, i had the 'Opaque' option checked, removing it made it work. Thanks for your answers though 🙂

Make sure you have some Transparency Depth passes.
Go to Render Settings > Arnold Renderer > Ray Depth > Transparency Depth

Its an option on geometry.
Select the geometry > attribute editor > [Whatever your geometry name is]Shape > Arnold > Opaque (checkbox)
