This basic model won't render the materials, but a new sphere with the same assigned material renders with no issues.
The model is rigged, but not skinned. All the components of that robot model won't render. So, I'm thinking it was something I did during the modeling and rigging process.

@hamsterHamster I narrowed it down to a hypershade issue. The link to the default material is broken (highlighted green). Not sure if I can export the whole project out or reset the hypershade editor to default settings. The ball was just a sphere I made so it's not part of the project but the same material node was assigned to both. I can't add the file it won't let me.
SOLVED: I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but all I did was import the file into a fresh scene and that fixed the broken default hyper shader issue. Still not sure how I damaged the default shader connection.
