Over-clocked Processor and rendering in arnold. Any problems?

Hi there,

I am buying a system and was wondering about the benefits of over-clocking the processor. I would primarily be looking for advantages in rendering with Arnold in Maya.

I wanted to know if anyone out there has experience with over-clocked processors and if they give significant performance advantages or indeed any problems?

My system would be:

Overclocked AMD Threadripper 3960X 24 Core

Asus Prime TRX40 Pro Motherboard

NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3080 GPU

64GB Vengence DDR4 Ram

Samsung Pro M.2 SSD

Thanks in advance

Mike.

Hi!

I don't recommend to overclock the processor, you will not gain a noticeable speed improvement, more likely you will run into problems. It's really not worth it.
