Multiple screen aspec ratio rendering.

I very commonly have to render both 16x9 and 9x16 version using maya arnold for my work. The way I have been doing this is to render a 1x1 at 1920 and cropping in post. I was wondering if there is a better way to save on render times by not rendering the pixels in the corner areas. I have an idea on how to do this but les idea on how to achieve it.

1. I know how setup a render region in arnold settings, so would it be possible to setup a render layer with a render region the would essentially crop the 16x9 out of the 1x1. Then 2 other render layers to crop out the remaining areas above and below the 16x9 in the 1x1 in order to construct the 9x16 in post?

2. Or is there a way to code anrold to exclude the corner squares in the 1x1? If so can that be automated when off to render farm?

I believe I have found the solution I was looking for using filter maps located in the arnold tab of the render camera.
