model in viewport showing up all black(even with textures)

Hey everyone, I woke up this morning just to check out the model I made and imported into maya before. Basically the model is shaded all black for some reason when I'm in textured view. I'm not seeing my textures applied. This was fine before when I imported it, however when I saved the scene and opened it up today it just appeared black without its textures. Not sure what I did or if something changed but any help would be appreciated.

Just want to add that I am using a stingray PBS shader since I exported my textures from substance painter 2. I tried using a phong material also with the texture and now that even outputs the model black. I recreated most of the shaders and deleted the old ones, added the textures again and still same results. I tried the lighting options and various other things.

Having the same problem, in render view it looks fine in the viewport it doesnt.

I have a separate obj that looks just fine in the viewport same mesh, same uvs, same texture.

Ok, maya is very "temperamental" when you use UV mapped (UDIM) textures in the viewport.... most of the times , it shows the texture without illumination.... (its not black, just it isnt illuminated, but it is there).

I found a useful workaroud that will fix that, but you will have to use it every time you open the file.... Maya never keeps any setting. go to the viewport renderer menu over the viewport, and you will see 2 options: Viewport 2.0 and Arnold.

There`s a box in front of Viewport 2.0, just click there, and the viewport shader options will pop up....

Go to  "Regenerate All UV Tile Preview Textures"  and click over it..... suddenly, all your textures will look alright and with the right shader. This fixes the issue , but once per session.... because maya never stores any given setting, not even frame range.

Just so you know, there is a way to make it load UDIMS automatically. I’m not at my computer at the moment, but somewhere in settings/preferences there’s a “load UDIMS on startup” or something similar.
