Maya2022 GPU Rendering Problem

Hi all.

So I've recently updated my Maya and Arnold after the Arnold license had expired.

Opened up a scene for a batch render. Set up the frames and cameras for rendering with GPU as I usually would. The message showed Render Complete but nothing had been rendered. Then tried to do a IPR render and says Nvidia driver is too old.

PC specs:

GeForce RTX3090

AMD 3970X 32-Core Processor

64GB RAM

At one point the GPU wasn't even in the Manual Device Selection. Also the System menu window in the render settings had minimized to 10x10pixels which I thought was hilarious.

I then updated the GPU (RTX3090) as advised, Reinstalled and updated to Maya 2022.2 and Arnold 5.0.0.1 (latest versions) but no luck.

I had errors about GPU drivers, so uninstalled all GPU drivers and reinstalled studio/game drivers (472.47). still no luck.

After days of looking on the forums relating to the issue, I couldn't find the solution. So I then uninstalled all Autodesk and Arnold software (again) and reverted back to Maya 2020 and Arnold 4.0.0 and everything seems to be working okay, apart from an error involving mental ray nodes.

I'd love to know If anyone does find a solution to this.

Same here, but while the GPU would stall, the CPU render would crash immediately. Downgrading to the last Arnold 6 (4.2.4) put me back on the job with Maya 2022.2.

NVidia RTX3090

Intel i9-9940X

Hi

In either case, an Arnold log (with verbosity level set to Info) would have helped.
If you do ever try the newer MtoA and still have problems, please post the logs so we can take a look.

I'm glad you have yours working again mate.

I've tried downloading 4.2.4 and 4.2.1. and still cant batch render but can IPR using GPU with 4.2.1.

You can attach the log file here. Just drag and drop to the Attachments section below...

I've attached the log file.

A clean uninstall does nothing for me either. Fatal Error crashes have also become a lot more frequent now, especially when UV editing and connecting vertices.

I've also completely uninstalled all GPU drivers and used later versions with no luck. Maya doesn't even recognize the GPU in the render settings.

fyi, a complete reinstall of 2022.3 brought me back and working with 5.0.0.1 and 5.0.0.2. But now Bifrost 3.2.1.0 crashes every time I load it. (I posted over there.)
