When I try to render a simple object with Xgen hair with Redshift Maya immediately crashes. I have been experimenting with other hair systems, Ornatrix and Yeti but each has problems with Redshift.
I would prefer to use Xgen but cannot get by this immediate crash. Probably something in my config. I am on the latest version of Maya for MacOS and Redshift.
I'd appreciate any advice on how to proceed. Especially want to hear from anyone who's gotten Xgen and Redshift to work together nicely. I have watched a few tutorials on Xgen and Redshift and thigs 'just work' in them but no explanation as to what settings or config might be necessary. Also, the videos are all a few years old.
