Maya 2016 Hypershade resizes Material swatches when using the "Show" filter

Hypershade is open and I am viewing extra large list swatches.

I enter some text into the "Show" filter box to filter the list of Materials.

Maya automatically resizes the swatches back to small.

This happens in list view or in icon view.

It's the same in Maya 2018 update1.

Please report this problem (bug?) to Autodesk.
