Hello all,

I would like to use an UV texture (red and green) in Arnold to warp the final output UVs (screen UVs) to create a "heat refraction" effect. I guess you would usually do this in a "post" package like Nuke, but I would like to know whether there is a way in Maya to access and modify the render buffers before they are output.

I come from UE4, where this is possible due to the way this engine works, in there you create a "post process" material, where you grab the sampler info that you need (it could be colour, normal, roughness etc.) and you output it again.

EDIT: kind of like this but for the whole render output: https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/display/A5AFMUG/Remap+an+Image+Using+UV+Coords

Thank you in advance, I hope I kind of explained myself.

Kind regards,
