Bump/Normal map not working on arnold render.

Hi, so I've been working on a render based on a reference image, the image has patio couch made out of rattan. So, I went and grabbed a rattan texture and turned it into a normal map, and though I do get some of the effect, the final composition still looks too flat. I've tried using a bump map instead of a normal map and the effect is the same. I've checked the arnold page about bump/normal mapping (I'm using aistandardsurface) and everything seems to be in order, I'm not sure why this is the case.

For context, my bump/normal depth is set up to 1000 on the node and it still looks the same as if it was on 1. What could be causing this issue?

Images for reference, of the texture, normal/bump maps/ and the effect how it looks even with 1000 bump/normal depth.

Thanks for any help!

I would say the light is to flat.

Try a directional light from above.

Best would be a displacement map or modeling the rattan with geo.
