Arnold Render View is Rendering Incorrectly

I am a new user to Maya and am currently completing a Lynda tutorial on MAYA 2018 Essentials Training. I am currently attempting to render the scene as per tutorial, but am not getting the same results as in the video. The Arnold Render Viewer when IPR is running is showing completely white. It is rendering within a second and not showing any errors that I see. The renderer selected is Arnold. When I try to use the Render View button, something shows up on the rendered scene, but as you see in the image it is just a very weirdly pixelated image.

I am a student and am using the most recently updated version of maya. It was downloaded about a week ago.
