Arnold render view automatically smoothing and beveling?

Hi. I've never had this happen before. Arnold render view is adding a bevel, and smoothing my mesh. I'm not in smooth preview mode. I think I've turned off anything in the settings that would cause this, but I must be missing something. I've never encountered this issue before. I even tried resetting the preferences. Help please? - thanks

I though maybe there was an issue with my UV's, so I just used the auto option to cut the UV's. Still with the bevel.

another update... sorry if there's a way to edit the original post I cannot figure it out....

So I though maybe there was an issue with my model, So I remodeled and re-textured it.... still with the bevel 😕 . I do have a displacement map if that makes a difference. I'm using a base color, a normal, rough, and displacement maps.

I deleted the displacement map which also removed the bevel..... However, I really need the displacement map. I'm not finding much on google able my particular problem. With the map still in place, I tried to render unsmooth as well as smooth with different iterations of smoothness. All ended in the same result. Only removing the map ended the distorted bevel. So the new question would be:

  • How do I keep the displacement map from automatically adding  distorted beveled edges?
