Arnold area light makes material Look matte

Hallo everyone,

I recently have used a AIStandardSurface Material with the gold preset. With most lights it has a very Realistin metal look, exept for the Arnold area light. If I use that, the models metallic look is totally gone. Is that just normal for this sort of light?

Thank you really much

Hi!

"...metallic look is totally gone."

I don't know what this means, here it works fine.

When using an area light for lightning, there is no reflection any more when rendering. The moddle is matte

Hi!

Thanks for the screenshot and scene-file, but i can see mass chrome reflections.

Here different states of the light:

A big light source creates a different look than a small light, so if you prefer the look of a small light source, then use one.

There is a reason why all photographers and cinematographers say, "the most important is light".
