Hi!

What passes?

For some passes anti aliasing makes no sense, like for an ID pass where every object belongs to one specific color value.

to be honest i used the id pass as an alpha mask and hoped there would be a way to alias it's edges without increasing the aa camera samples . You might ask why, i have some issues with the volumetric that dont render if i save the frame. (It used to save itself as the semi transparent ,why are the volumetric omitted if i save it as the image file that supports alpha?)

Hi!

Without an example scene it's hard to say what's the problem with your volumetric object.

You can't anti-alias the ID pass, this would destroy the masks, as you don't know to what object any in-between color values belong. The only way is to render a higher resolution and scale down later in post.
