Absolute Override in the Render Layers are not working

Hi

I'm trying to create Absolute Override on the Primary Visibility in my collection in the Render Layers. I used to be able to middle mouse click the primary visibility in my Attribute Editor and drag it to the render layers window where it says "Drag Attribute from Attribute Editor". However, it is not working. I have tried to middle, left and right-click and drag to get the Primary Visibility into the override but nothing is working. What am I doing wrong?

This is a project that I did 2 years ago and I think I did it like this, simply to drag it but now that is not working.

Looks like there is nothing in your collection.

You can only drag attributes from objects living in your collection.

After looking a little more into this, I found out what I was doing wrong. I was trying to middle mouse and drag Primary Visibility to create overwrite in the render layers but that didn't work. I selected the geometries that I wanted to hide, then right-clicked Primary Visibility in the attribute editor and clicked "Create Absolute Override for visible Layer" and that worked.

Thanks for your reply and to get me on the right track 👍

Well... A few months later and I am still having an issue with the render layers in Maya. The solution that I came up with when last time didn't work with many objects, only one. I don't understand why middle-mouse drag and drop an attribute from the Attribute Editor to the Property Editor won't work. In this case Primary Visibility.

I need to create overwrite to the Background collection so they won't render.

The layer has to be the active one.

I'm having this same problem. The only way I've been able to get around it is to manually create the shapes collection, then right click to create Absolute Override, then type in "primaryVisibility" as the node. The active layer thing mentioned doesn't seem to be valid.

I am right clicking on "primary visibility" in the attribute editor.  The "create absolute override..." option is not appearing at the bottom of the list.  Why not?  Has it moved somewhere else?  Is it disabled for student subscriptions?

Middle mouse drag works for object display. (see image green arrow) Right click on attribute works for most attributes for Arnold.(see image green arrow) Make sure you have render layer visible. (green cycle)
