Hi All,
Not sure if I'm posting in the right forum. I'm mostly a 3d modeler, but use XGen often. I'm trying to write an expression for the coil modifier where I can control the number of coils per guide based on length. For example:
I input 60 coils which works fine for the longer guides, but also crams 60 coils into the very short guides--as expected. I've worked around that by painting masks for each section and just add a new coil modifier with a new mask for the shorter guides. It works, but those shorter guides are still slightly influenced by the other coil modifiers. I've gone as far as carefully painting my masks in Mari to be sure they don't overlap. There must be an expression out there that can solve this problem?
My knowledge regarding scripting/coding is very limited and not even sure if XGen expressions fall into either of those categories. If anyone knows of a resource that really breaks down XGen expressions and how/why they function, I'd love to know.
Thanks,
Charlie
