Unexpected Quit of Maya program 2017

Hello, Maya Community.

Hope you are fine.

I have a very serious problem with Maya program. Many times when I am working with the program, it turns off suddenly without saving my work. And sometimes it keeps turning off every time when I try to reopen it. This problem disturbing me and especially when I am practicing and studying.

Notes:

- I have the student version of Autodesk Maya 2017.

- My computer is MacBook Pro 2015 (Processor - 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5) \ (Graphics - Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB).

Hope someone gives me the solution ASAP.

Welcome to the Community.

Does it happen on a particular file only or does this incident occur in general? If it's related to a specific file, then the file might already be corrupted.

If it's the software in general, try to Reset Maya to Default, or perform a clean uninstall of Maya and reinstall it once more, as described here. Also, double check your system requirements as well as update your graphic card driver.

Thank you for giving me some suggestions for my technical problem.

Unexpected Quit of Maya program is happening in general not on a particular file, so I tried to solve the problem depending on your suggestions:

1- perform a clean uninstall of Maya and reinstall it once more.
I can not risk uninstalling the program; because I have faced a problems with installation, opening and activation the program, so I am afraid to face the same problem.

2- check your system requirements as well as update your graphic card driver.
The Operating system of my MAC is matching with the requirements, however the graphic card in new Mac fixed and can not be updated.

3- Reset Maya to Default .
I could’t complete this method, because in step 4 (Find the “prefs” folder and rename it to “prefsOld”)

When I searched, I have found one folder named “preferences”, so I rename it to “preferencesOld”.
In step 5 (Restart Maya and if prompted to select the option to create default preferences).
Nothing happened after restarting Maya and no massage occurs with option to create default preferences).

How can I solve this issue 😞

Then you risk never having a stable Maya.

Graphic card DRIVER can be updated, if latest update is not already installed.

Try a reset of your preferences.
Rename the folder prefs in folder 2018 to something like prefs_backup, or to reset everything, the folder 2018 to 2018_backup. Maya creates new folders. Detailed at:
