If I just boot ubuntu, it's not that slow. Running maya will slow down both the system and Maya overall. The rendering speed is not slow. However, the slowness of object movement in the viewport becomes worse.
my system is.,
i7-8700K
GTX1060 6GB
64GB Ram
OS - Ubuntu 17.10
I think that maybe it is due to cache in Ubuntu.
In case of slowing down, I checked the cache with
'free -m' and 'sync && echo 3> / proc / sys / vm / drop_caches'
I do not know the exact reason, but I am using it like this.
