Maya Scripting Reference not displaying

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have recently started working with Maya 2018 with an educational license. I wanted to get into programming for it, but neither the Python nor the Mel command references (Help -> Maya Scripting References -> XXX Command References) open usable pages. They both open Internet Explorer for some reason and display the general help page.

Can I find the command refenrences anywhere else?

Yep. I complained about this with the 'did this answer your question' button. It seems that all the buttons that launch help from maya just take you to the main maya help, and not anything specific. Not very... helpful.

I filed a bug report for this. I can't imagine I'm the only one who filed this, but my reference number is BSPR-32593.

Does nobody know where I can find the scripting reference?

Err.... I'm going to un-accept this solution as the fact is that this aspect of maya is broken. The menu option to go to the scripting reference simply doesn't work. It isn't enough to send people to a website which has a cryptically hidden menu item which can then take you to the thing you should have been taken to right away.
