Can't move vertices or lines with the move tool

Hello, im still new to Maya and for some odd reason I can't move any vertice or lines with the move tool anymore, instead the whole object moves on the XYZ axis. Can someone help please? Thank you!

More details, at least a screenshot would be helpful, but i guess you enabled Soft Selection (hotkey B):

I was having the same issue and "B" worked as well! Thanks!! Was getting super frustrated

For me it was the preserve UVs that was checked
