What happened to my mesh ??

What happened to my mesh ??

hi,
after a few hours of trying to ´fine tune´ my mesh (newbie attempts) ..
and saving the scene when satisfied ...
when I opened the file/scene next time,
this was what I saw .. (pls see attached screenshot)

What happened to my mesh ??
Maybe some hot key I did not notice, right before saving??
Or is it a glitch?
(and if so - is there a way how to get my mesh back to its previous - smooth and ´organized´ state?)

Any ideas pls?

Thanks,
alena

Have you extruded already extruded faces? Have you delete construction history of your objects? Have you used any sculpting?

Hi Moustakalis,
no - no extrusion at all -
just a bit of a subtle sculpting over (partially) smoothed surface  ..

I can´t show the original mesh, before this happened - since I did not back up this file -
but - the mesh looked similar to what I have in other project of mine (pls see screenshot) ..
Nothing special, no complicated geometry/operations applied.

Even while saving the scene - everything looked fine.
Only after I opened  the file next time, I found my mesh ..  gone crazy ..

Sculpt makes this as a result also. First of all try the incremental save instead of save to avoid such things. Also cleanup with very untolerant settings could result this. Try deleting history of the object before continuing on sculpting. Also on your other project, I see at least 3 subdivision levels more than what what needed to achieve this.

HI Moustakalis,
just to clarify (maybe my English) - this did not happen while I was doing something .. watever.
I had no problem of this kind while working, whatever I was doing - not even close.
Only when opened the file next time - this was what I found, to my big surprise.

But definitelly thanks for your replies - and thoughts.
I will also have a look at how to improve my subdivision level, thanks for reminding me ..
Thanks, a.
