I am pretty experienced using Mayas UV tools, and never had big issues with pinching along the uv seams. However now I am doing my first client work and want to stay as lowres as possible with the mesh to make revisions as easy as possible. I usually try to model with pretty square faces, however trying to be so lowres I now have faces with longer uneven edge lengths. Once I subdivide the mesh I get aweful pinching and stretching along the seams. Any tips and tricks? I attached images of a really easy example.
Yeah that helps for the viewport, any idea which setting in the vray subdivision options would be 100% equal to that. Also software like headus offers ways to unfold the mesh as if it already was subdivided to optimze the low res uvs already for rendering. Does Maya offer something equal?
