Sculpting Pull Tool causes faces to break

I'm new to Maya sculpting and am testing out the tools for the first time after watching a few different tutorials, nad my first attempt at using the pull tool on a sphere (which I'd only tested the flattening tool on so far) cause the faces and vertexes to bug out as seen in the uploaded pictures. I would first suggest updating your version of Maya to 2020.4. (since I see from your screenshots that you are using Maya 2020)
