Sculpt tools not working

I'm trying to use the sculpt tools on my model, and well, the wireframe and pointer show up, but nothing is happening. Even if I change the size of the tool, it has no effect. Is there limits to the tools or does the geometry have to be even? I've experienced this before but found that I'd have to start all over again.

Check Size and Strength of the tool.

I've tried that many times and nothing happens, it'll just go back to object mode.

Based on your screenshot the Brush size is way too large (or too small).

I've tried it. I've tried resizing using the key 'B' and by the scrolling in the tool attributes. When I press 'B' the black line that usually appears when changing the size doesn't even show up.

Try to scale down your polyPlane shape, a lot, so it is close to fit on a standard sized view grid. I guess its to large. Scale it up again when you are finished sculpting it.

Switch to blender maya is ****ty
