Basic Functionality in Maya 2018: Move tool doesn't follow handle axis

[First Post!]

I have been using Maya for years, and am completely baffled by this. In object mode when moving a rotated object in Maya 2018, the object does not follow the handle axis. (video attached)

I have done all of the common things, like resetting my tool and looking for any weird plane snapping modes.

I just can't seem to figure this out. I can create it in a new scene by rotating a new cube a few times. There must be something simple I am missing.

Hi @Anonymous

While you've reset the tool, can you check the orientation and see what mode it is in and/or if different modes like object, component, world etc change how the tools works?

Also, if you freeze transformations and then try to move it does this issue still happen?

Finally, is your Maya 2018 up to date and are there steps to reproduce this?

Hi @Anonymous

Just wanted to check in to see how things were going. Are you still having this issue?

I updated to the newest version of maya and am no longer seeing the issue. I don't have total confidence that it is gone, so I will follow up with repro steps if I see it again.

Thanks for the help!
