-Create a polygon cube, then add a Bevel to it and adjust the settings to your liking.

or

-Create a polygon cube. Increase its length, width, and height segments to whatever is required. Try maybe 10 to start. Press '3' on the keyboard. Alternatively, instead of increasing the segments in the cube, you can add your own edgeloops only in the critical areas with the "Insert Edge Loop" tool.

And of course - if this was 3ds Max, then just press the "Chamfer Box" button. 🙂

Thanks for the quick answer !
It's also very straightforward in Cinema 4d.

If you create a polygon cube, select all the edges and bevel them, using an odd number of segments will give you a triangle at each corner; using an even number gives you all quads.

If you want to create this in NURBS, create a default sphere; detach it at the equator, detach the remaining hemispheres into four sections each. Move each of the eight pieces away from each other - these represent the corners of the cube. Select the isoparms across from each other and loft them.
