Pressing D for changing the pivot point isn't working

Hello there, 

i always used to press D on the keyboard then press where ever i want on the object to move the pivot point where i want it, but now it's just not working any more, i can press D then move it manually but this is not what i want, any ideas ? 

i tried to reset Maya preferences but didn't worked

Okay, for anyone having this problem, i have figured it out myself, just double click on the move tool then under the edit pivot, there for options, the position option will be uncheck, just check it on

But, nevertheless, it is more useful to keep the position unchecked 😉

Thanks for the answer anyway, so i found the solution for my problem, which was the opposite, the position checkbox was checked.

make sure "show orientation handle" in rotate/move/scale tools are checked.
