Hello! I am trying to model a simple character for my uni class. I have to do a simple animation, (i'm just going to make it wave, nothing crazy). For some reason, my model has all these hard ridges that won't smooth. I've tried using the regular smooth option, and I've tried to use face normals, set face, Mesh Display, Soften/Harden Edges, but it doesn't change in appearance at all. I'm not sure if I understand that particular feature very well to begin with. and i'm not so sure my topology is super great either haha.

Iam sure that the model is smoothed according to his nose. The problem will be propably the topology. It looks like some of the edges are more in front than the others and thats make it like star shape. Try to select some edge loop one by one and apply "edit edges that respect surface curvature". I think you have just bumpy topology.
