Moving faces inwards or outwards

Is there a way to be able to move a ring or faces towards a centre point while maintaining the scale of the faces selected? I want the thickness of the ring to be the same when moving in and out.

Hi!

You can't maintain the scale, as the faces have to change, so there is no direct way to do this in one step, but you can correct the thickness easily later in a second step.

Other options:

a) If you want to use scaling I recommend to create only a "flat" model and add the thickness later, then the thickness is always constant.

b) Move individual components (don't use scaling).
