Merging the end of a cylinder and a cone

Hello!

I'm having an issue with merging the verticies of a cylinder and a cone for the front of an airplane.

They have the same number of subdivisons, naturally.

First image is wireframe, no smoothing, second is wireframe smoothmesh preview, third is smooth shade smoothmesh preview.

(I get a non-manifold geometry message)

I am aware that I could have used subdivisions cap in the cylinder attributes, but is there no way to fix this now?

Thanks.

Have you checked the normals ? Are they really merged ? Maybe there are still edges overlapping. I suggest you turn on Display->Heads up display->Polycount. This lets you see how many vertices/edges you have selected. Good Luck!

I ended up remaking the nosecone, so I guess this topic is obsolete.

I did check my vertex count though, there were only the 50 that were supposed to be there.
