If you hover over an already selected component in Maya 2023, it will become highlighted in green.
Is there anyway to disable this? I find it hard to to focus when modeling.
Thank you,
Milos

Perhaps subjective, quite contrary here, as it shows what element will be affected by the next click.
You can disable it in Prefs > Selection > PreselectionHighlight
Alternatively, you could probably change highlighting colors to be less distractive to your taste, however I could not find the second color option for Preselection-highlight-selected; must be buried somewhere

Correct, this is not new but the "selected pre-select color" is not exposed for customization.
I files an issue for this: MAYA-122568 - Unable to customize pre-selection colors
I see... maybe I just had it turned off in Maya 2020 and 2022 and just forgot about it. Oh well, thanks for the help. I am just going to turn off the pre-selection.
Cheers.
Bumping this one. You still cannot access the bright green color for preselection highlighting. Please expose it, it is BLINDING.
