maya 2019 won't extrude face along EP curve

don't know if it's some settings I've changed or something. Every time I select the face first then shift select the ep curve, the curve just enter the edit mode where you are control all the vertex... then I know the extrude along the curve won't happen.

Anyone experience the same issue here?

Hi,

So after a few attempts I re-created this.

This happens when you're in component mode 

So I say the best approach is to

• stay in object mode
• Right click on your poly object and select faces
• Then shift select your curve and extrude

But it should also work when using hotkey for selecting faces and then curve. And it doesn't!
