How to apply 32bit exr diplacement map to Xgen

Hi, I'm learning XGen for hair and fur creation. However I ran into a problem, I have a human head model created in Zbrush with a lot of displacement and I'm using a 32 bit exr dispalcement map outputted from zbrush. It works pretty good on my model. However, the beard I created by XGen  turned out to be mostly hidden underneath the head model when rendering  due to the displacement. So I'm wondering how to apply my displacement map precisely onto the XGen beard. It seems that there isn't a very clear tuition. XGen document said that I have to use a ptex file, so how can I covert the 32bit exr file to a ptex file and connect to XGen displacement ?
