Have camera follow motion capture model

Hello.  I connected a motion capture FBX file to a 3d model I downloaded from the Internet by binding the skin using the tutorial below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdANpFCxQo8

I am now trying to get the camera to follow the model so that the model stays on screen the whole time.  I've tried a few different things from tutorials including keyframes, making the model a parent of the camera, and trying to attach the camera to the model's motion path.  The model doesn't really have a set motion path so that doesn't work.  And, in the other instances, the camera also doesn't seem to move with the model.  Some of the videos have at least allowed me to position the camera so that the model can be seen most of the time.  But, none of the tutorials allow the camera to move with the motion capture model.

If anybody can suggest a tutorial or suggest how I can talk to Autodesk Maya support via a screenshare, that would be very helpful.

I have a free, educator account and am working on the motion capture workflow with my students to go from Motive (Optitrack product) with a motion capture file to Maya (attach the body to the model and connect the camera to the model) and then to Nuke to do the compositing.

I've got the setup worked out in Motive and Nuke but am still having this issue in Maya in the middle of the process.

I also had a problem in Maya where the render was all black.  I added a skydome light and also set the camera's visibility to 0 on the skydome light.  Both were suggested in forums.  That worked the first time I exported from Maya to use the file in Nuke.  The model could be seen clearly.  The only issue was that it wasn't staying on screen the whole time in front of the other video that I composited it on top of.  But, as I've been messing with trying to connect the camera to the model, the output again is appearing black in the render view and when I try to export the file.  I still have the skydome light with the camera's visibility set to 0.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

It would be better Jesse to just bump your first post instead of creating confusion with a second post.

Duplicate posts create a mess here in the forums, thanks.
