cv curve: planar op. doesn't work

Hello, I made a lettering with the cv curve. Why I cant planar the closed curves? I click planar with output as polygons but nothing happens. And the outliner shows planar trimmed surface. Maybe the problem is that I added multiple vertex at every each corner of a letter so that the corners can be sharp enough? You can see a corner on the second screenshot. Or should I merge the vertex on corners?
And another question, I continued with my project. And I added a skydome. The scene is still too dark, I added the point Light, but arnold renderer just ignores, its still too dark. Only the light/reflaction from the skydome is visible. Can someone help me please?

The curve is still open. Find the end CV and snap it to the first CV. If the Curve is closed curve, then one or more cvs are not in the same plane. All the CVs needs to be flat plane. Check any of the Orthographic view, Side or Front and you will notice that not all the points are in a flat plane.

Scale them the corresponding Axis to flatten .

Okay it was my fault. I picked up the ep curve tool from shelf, instead of cv curve tool.

Can you tell me why the point light did not rendered with arnold renderer? Or how to use Light within a skydome?

it will render. You have to crank up the Intensity of the light. But my
advice is not to use some of the Maya lights to render with Arnold. Only
Spot light and Directional lights.

Use Arnold Area light, Skydome light and other lights from Arnold Menu.

sorry. I just tried spot - and an arnold light. It won't render. I increased the lightintensity to 100.000.
