I have an educational account for Maya. I use a Mac at home and a Windows PC at school. Last week I went to unwrap a model and a white glow appeared on my model. The unwrapping also did not work properly in the UV Editor. I was able to unwrap my model in class yesterday (3/31/2025) and did not encounter this issue. Today I opened an unwrapped copy of the same file on my Mac and got the same white glow. I did a re-install and dumped the Maya folder in my documents folder. The unwrapping then worked but the white glow still remains. Has anyone else encountered this.Screenshot 2025-04-01 at 9.15.58 AM.png

Hi there. First, it should not matter if you're on a Mac or Win ... the software is identical. I think what is showing there is your UV Distortion. In the UV Editor (right under where it says 'UV Editor') you'll see some display options; the first is wireframe, then shaded, and the one I think you're showing is UV Distortion. It's the 3rd icon over. Select it and see if that helps. Thanks, Catherine

Thanks for getting back to me. I found the solution after numerous Google
searches. I don't know how this option got activated but everything seems
to be working as normal.

Thanks
