Unwanted object distortion while using NURBS to polygon function.

I'm a student working on a project for class, and I'm having a strange issue. I'm attempting to create a simple wineglass from a spline based object and the revolve function. I got it shaped exactly how I wanted with the CV curve tool, used the revolve tool to finish the glass, but when I would attempt to convert it to a polygon using the NURBS to polygon function, so I could clean up the geometry, it would come out with one particular edge looking funky.
I couldn’t really find any information on how to fix this, whenever I would edit the setting of the NURBS to polygon tool It would fix the weird part at the base of the model, but it would reduce the quality of the whole model or something equally weird would happen, below is a picture to show you what I mean, the model looks good but there are triangles I need to get rid of.
