.stl file export not working in Maya 2019

I am trying to export polygon models to an stl format for a 3D printer.  But parts of the model just disappear in the stl.  I am on a MAC running Mojave and MAYA 2019.  I have tried deleteing history, freezing transformation,  and triangulating to see if that would help.  All the objects have been unioned so they are a single unified mesh with no known errors.  I see there are issues from MAYA 2018, have these problems just continued in 2019?  If so are there any work arounds?

For example the biplane below just becomes the propeller and wheels, the plane itself disappears.

Thanks for you help

Hi!

STL export works fine here in Maya 2019.2 .

Please upload a scene-file.

Hi!

Correct the vertex positions where the main body of the plane is connected to the frame of the wheels.

actually stl exports on 2019 maya is just downright horrible. Full of innacurate dimensions that not even 3dsmax was able to fix. Now I'm afraid of using maya 2021 onwards because they might have the same problems under the stupid excuse of "you must try other things to be smarter" kind of bull****. seriously, you have 1 job. stop sucking at it autodesk.
