How to make an object hollow simply?

Hello, So I am trying to make this object hollow. I tried using offset attribute in the extrude tool but it did not help. My object went all black, maybe it is a glitch or something? Can you please suggest to me various ways I can do this? Thank you! :))

If it does go black the faces are inverted.

Hi!

By "hollow" do you mean something like deleting the top face? The object has nothing inside so technically it is hollow...

Or do you mean something else?

Hi,

I am not 100% sure what you are asking so here is a video showing how to add thickness to the mesh.

1) Delete the top face to create an open surface

2) Extrude all the faces inwards by adjusting the Z offset

3) Mesh Display > Reverse to flip the normals (fix the black surface)
