Sculpting Strength Scaling

Hello community,
I have noticed that sculpting (more specifically for the smoothing brush) there is the strength as well as the scale options(from the basic ones). Everything scale normally depending on their values. What when it comes to strength, for values above 100, I hardly notice any difference. I have tried to scale up the strength from 300 to 10,000 and I can almost certainly say there is no difference. What is up with it? My GPU is really strong (NVIDIA Quadro K2200, 4GB memory) so there is no hardware issue. Can I somehow make it work cause smoothing is my #1 ally when I want to sculpt fast (make strong extrudes and then smooth them in stead of trying to make it accurate with 5 different brushes and dozens of strokes) and it makes it really slow when it comes to big meshes.
